It’s a common feeling: You’ve taken years of piano lessons, but despite all your hard work and practicing, you can’t easily sit down and play. Even though you love music, the idea of playing piano for your friends and family makes you tremble with fear.

Hi! I’m Ron Drotos, and I’ve been helping pianists overcome this problem for over 30 years, both when playing at home and in public.

When you think about it, it’s not your fault; it’s the nature of how most pianists have been taught to play. You’re tied to the sheet music and have never become fluent in creating music yourself. So even though you’ve memorized a piece really well, the slightest bit of nervousness or adrenaline throws everything out of whack and Bam!, you forget the notes and feel embarrassed or inadequate.

The remedy for this is to learn to improvise, and it’s easier than you think. In fact, you already do this every day with language when you speak with your friends each day. We easily use words and phrases in fresh combinations during our everyday conversations, and we feel good about it. And if we say a wrong word, we can easily recover and keep the conversation going.

I’ll teach you how to do the same at the piano. Over 1,000 pianists worldwide, from beginners to professionals, have used my Flowing Water lessons to improvise with an ease they’ve never before imagined possible, and the Flowing Water lessons will help you too. The first lesson is easy enough that I’ve taught it to 5-year-olds, and the lessons progress gradually and step-by-step until you’re effortlessly playing up and down the keyboard, without sheet music. Then you’ll be ready to jump into my Rock and Blues Basics, Intro To Jazz, Pop Piano, or Pachelbel’s Canon Improv courses. And if you can already play some jazz or pop music, you’ll find that my Intermediate and Advanced lessons will take you to the next level and make playing the piano even more fun and exciting for you.
