The next time you sit down to practice piano… see how you need to practice at that particular time.
Maybe yesterday you needed to work on rhythm, but today your rhythm is good. What then, would be an effective way to practice today? Maybe you’d continue playing rhythmically and take that aspect of your playing further, since your hand coordination is coming more naturally. Or maybe you feel the need to shift gears and practice your technique. Hands separately? Hands together? Fast? Slow? How do you go about deciding?
Continuity is important. But at the same time, we can benefit from being sensitive to what’s needed at each moment. By doing this, you’ll find that you improve at a faster rate and stay more interested in your piano playing on a daily basis.
Good luck with your practicing!
