The big shift

For a while, you sit down at the piano to play a song.

Then, at some point there’s a big shift, and you sit down at the piano to express yourself through the song.

There’s a marriage of material and your artistic sensibility, and it can happen on some songs that may surprise you. Here’s how it happened when I played the Beatle’s song “Sun King,” from Abbey Road. I hope this inspires you to express yourself through your own favorite songs at the piano!
