It’s not your wrong note we care about, it’s your next note!

When I hear you play, I don’t care about your wrong note. In fact, nobody does (except you, perhaps).

What we do care about, in a big way, is your next note. And the notes after that.

We all make mistakes, and we all play wrong notes. The important question is “Do we let it stop the flow of the music or do we let it be absorbed into the flow of the music?”

Just like in sports, speaking with friends, or reading a book, it’s about the flow. An occasional wrong note isn’t as important as you may think. In fact, it’s meaningless. A drop in the ocean.

Enjoy the journey, and “let the music flow!”
