Bluesette: Journey Through The Real Book #42

My Journey Through The Real Book continues with #42: Bluesette.

Bluesette is a lively jazz waltz by Toots Thielemans, who in addition to playing jazz harmonica and guitar, was a virtuosic jazz whistler! Yep, you heard that right, and I hope you check him out for yourself by watching some of his YouTube videos.

Also, spend some time playing Bluesette. It takes the chords to a Charlie Parker Blues, such as Blues For Alice, and kind of morphs them into a song form over the jazz waltz rhythm.

Have fun and remember to always “let the music flow!”
