Hi, I’m Timbo from Texas. I mostly enjoy playing classic rock and jazz tunes. I’ve only recently enjoyed learning to read sheet music, which has opened up a whole new world to me. I’ve only been improvising a few months, but I’m really enjoying it. Taking lessons with Ron has been a great experience. This is my third attempt at piano lessons and this is by far the best way for me to learn. I really enjoy the social aspect of it as well, I like chatting with people with the same interests as me. I’m looking forward to your posts. Let’s make this a really awesome forum.

Hello, I’m Mike, and I currently live in Chicagoland after living everywhere else (DC, Philly, SF, US Virgin Islands, MN, and Alaska). I have two primary musical goals….1) improve as an accompanist as it is a great way to force me to practice and get public playing opportunities & 2) improve as a jazz pianist as I am appreciating the art form more every day.

    Hello, friends! I’m Eric Drury.

I’ve been playing the piano since I was 5 (I’m 27 now). I started with classical, but after a bad experience in college, I stopped playing music for while. December 2013 I began sttempting to improvise in the style of Bach, and eventually got okay at that.

These days, I play at a Church, performing hymns and improvising preludes for the congregation. I’m also learning to play the Blues and have begun looking at Ron’s Keith Jarrett lessons.

I’m having more fun with music, I think, than when I was studying at a conservatory. Unfortunately, the school I went to did not teach the sort of improvising I wanted to do, which is why I’m thankful for this site.

Well it seems I am Tim from Texas 2. I have always gone by Tim but my mother always wanted me to go by my full name ‘Timothy’. Recently since I had another Tim working for me, I started going by Timothy. It seems to have stuck. I live in The Woodlands / Conroe area North of Houston. I just joined this site a couple days ago so really looking forward to advancing my level of play. I also took lessons as a child and a couple times since then. I can read music but really want to improvise and play by ear. It looks like this site will be a great way to get me moving again. I am quite serious about making learning stick this time. I am glad to meet you all here and share this experience.

I really like great music and it doesn’t matter too much the style so long as it has a nice groove. I have learned a few classical pieces over the years, but my focus would be more like pop or some of the great music from the 50’s. I love some of the gospel music as well and want to learn that as well.
